This August 17-25, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is set to create a spectacle of lights and colors with the event “VIJITR 5 Regions @ Prachuap Khiri Khan.” Pin the “Hua Hin” location and enhance the nighttime atmosphere with vibrant displays across 15 points.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports, through the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), is ready to present the “VIJITR 5 Regions @ Prachuap Khiri Khan” from August 17-25, 2023, from 6:00 PM to midnight in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The event will illuminate Hua Hin’s night sky using modern lighting and sound techniques under the concept “Hua Hin Timeless Light Charm.” This concept invites visitors to reminisce about the ambiance and the enchanting allure of old Hua Hin through 15 spectacular points that narrate the history, culture, and lifestyle spanning from the past to the present. This activity is one of the five unique areas under the “VIJITR 5 Regions” project aimed at inspiring real travel experiences in the region.
Join us at another location of the “VIJITR 5 Regions” project with the event “VIJITR 5 Regions @ Prachuap Khiri Khan,” offering the concept “Hua Hin Timeless Light Charm” from August 17-25, 2023. Starting from 6:00 PM at locations including the 112-year-old Hua Hin Railway Station (Old), New Hua Hin Railway Station, Phon Kingphet Public Park, and Gold Mall (Hua Hin Intersection) in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. Experience the timeless beauty of Hua Hin from its past to the present, encompassing lifestyle, wisdom, culture, and history through 15 vibrant display points featuring lights, colors, sounds, and modern projection mapping. This dynamic display will attract both Thai and international tourists, creating landmarks and business opportunities for the local community and entrepreneurs, generating jobs and circulating income at the grassroots level, thus enriching the tourist experience in a new dimension. The details of the activities at the 15 display points and one highlight point are as follows:
Landmark Treasure of the Locomotive of Light A 100-year-old steam locomotive used during World War II. This highlight reflects the timeless charm of Hua Hin, a locomotive of the past that has traveled through the eras, touching the lives of people across generations.
1. Hua Hin Station Timeless Charm
Features lighting and color displays on Victorian-style wooden buildings under curved roofs that reflect the dreamlike lights, recalling the charm of yesteryears, beautifully crafted with carved wood, warming the heart with the essence of a prosperous past.
2. The locomotive of light runway
Decorated with lighting, this locomotive, which once roamed during World War II and now stands as a memorial at Hua Hin Railway Station, is brought back to life with lights to commemorate history.
3. The Natural Treasure Decorated with lights using the “Light Down Tree” technique, providing a colorful display for the grand trees that have long shaded and stood with the people of Hua Hin, casting light downwards to the ground, allowing people to feel the grandeur of nature that is airy and vibrant.
4. Tower of Time at the Old Railway Tracks
Decorated with lights, adding color to this historical transportation hub, the gateway to the south, with delicate Victorian-style designs that reflect the lifestyle of the townspeople from bygone days, anchoring memories that connect people across generations.
5. Plub pla Sanam Chandra Moonlit Pavilion
Decorated with lights that enhance the central heart of the Thai people and honor the great kindness of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Rama IX, with glowing lights that reflect like royal grace at the Plubpla Sanam Chandra Moonlit Pavilion.
6. Yesterday Light’s rest Lights up vintage park benches, inspiring endless inspiration at a place legendary for Thailand’s first world boxing champion, with colorful lights that create a dreamlike inspiration.
7. Old town Agriculture of Light Decorated with lights, painting hues of agriculture that bring back the feeling of harvest season in the fertile lands of Prachuap Khiri Khan, with wavering lights that make one feel as if plants are growing and nourishing life.
8. Celestial Curtain Hall A blissful point of astronomy for learning about the sky at the King Mongkut’s Park of Science in Wa Ko, Prachuap Khiri Khan, established by King Mongkut (Rama IV), where stepping into this area feels like standing in the vast sky, touching the light lines of starry glows at night.
9. Sound and Light of Time Decorated with lights using design techniques that blend music and the art of lighting, creating movements that synchronize with jazz tunes, resembling the diverse yet life-enriching elements of Prachuap Khiri Khan.
10. The knowledge light warehouse (Revived Train Library) Decorated with LED Neo Light techniques for the library made from a train car over 50 years old, revitalizing the train with multicolored, sparkling lights that reflect the power of learning and continuing life.
11. Underwater Station (New Railway Station) Decorated with lights, the new railway station is themed underwater, emphasizing the abundant marine beauty of Prachuap Khiri Khan.
12. The Arena of light punch Decorated with broad beams of light that evoke a spirited feeling, reminiscent of the Hua Hin hero “Phon Kingphet,” Thailand’s first world boxing champion, with swift-moving lights like a boxer’s punch.
13. The Plaza of joyous light Decorated with lights, this wide plaza shines light that fills the heart with joy, with lighting techniques that fully reflect the mood of Hua Hin, constructed to commemorate a heroic boxer since October 27, 1994.
14. Swirls of Colorful Waves Decorated with lights, highlighting curves and colorful lights in 3D, akin to life-nourishing water, sparking fun and happiness, marking smiles alongside the hearts at Phon Kingphet Public Park.
15. Hua Hin’s culpture of Timeless Charm
Decorated and creating colorful lights at the area around the Gold Mall, simulating the lifestyle of Hua Hin townspeople with playful lighting techniques that immerse one in the civilization and atmosphere of the old town.
Special highlight performances will take place from August 17-25, 2023, featuring modern mixed media presentations that tell the story of Hua Hin’s charming past at three display points:
– The Locomotive of light runway
– The Knowledge Light Warehouse
– Landmark Treasure of the Locomotive of Light
In addition, on August 17-18 and 23-25, 2023, there will be special performances integrating advanced Light & Sound techniques that capture the charm of yesteryears through narratives spanning the memorable eras of Hua Hin, showcased at two points:
– Landmark Treasure of the Locomotive of Light will have a special showing at 7:00 PM.
– The Arena of Light Punch will have a special showing at 8:00 PM.
